Justin Beiber Does Nails

Step 2 the Beat of My Heart
If you haven't heard over the net already where have you been? Didn't have time yet to write this post until now due to being bogged down with a couple of other projects. Also known as JB or at least that's what me and my tween daughter call him now has a line of nail polishes. I thought it was strange at first but a brilliant marketing and product if I might say so myself. The majority of fan base for Justin is tweens. What better than to dress them in your own polish. I know these will fly off the shelf. Due to arrive in December exclusively at Wal-Mart stores until February when it will be sold at Target, Sears and other retailers. Nicole by OPI is the lucky brand to carry this line called the "One Less Lonely Girl Collection." Colors include Prized Possession Purple(grape), Give Me The First Dance(silver), Me + Blue(dark blue), OMB!(bright red), One Less Lonely Girl(lavender), and Step 2 The Beat Of My Heart which features heart shaped glitter. Half a dozen shades will launch by winter and another eight by January 2011. Not a real JB fan since I am in my 30's but if the colors are right I would so wear this polish. JB is definitely smart. Looks like he is taking tips from the Olsen twins. Shirts already in stores such as Wal-Mart, a recent television appearance on CSI and now this. Don't forget about the dolls set to launch as well this winter that features 30 second clips of his hit songs. Justin may not last but with the right accountant he can surely retire for rest of his life in case of over marketing. Just a thought.

Cropped Up But Coverd Up

Hello dear avid readers! I'm not quite sure what happened to my rss feed but I am definitely looking into it. Also I know I haven't been posting every day or other day but due to family issues it has taken some of my time away but I will definitely be back soon full force! Today is all about crops. Not pants or capris but jackets and coats. Fall is here and we need to wear a jacket but don't want to look bulky and uncomfortable when the weather warms up mid day. I am here to tell you that you can still look fashionable and sexy while doing it. Yes it's possible. Here are a few of my picks that I ran across and really love them. First we have the Latte by Coffeshop rust plaid wool cropped sleeve coat at ShopStyle found at Bluefly.com. Originally $147 it is currently on sale for $124.95. This is perfect for your all American girl. This coat is stylish and chic. Pair this with a fitted tee or sheath for the perfect look.

Latte by Coffeshop

6pm.com is one of my favorite sites. I was able to get the coveted DC Chalet boots last winter from 6pm.com for $35! Now you know that was a steal for those boots. You can get designer brands at a fraction of the cost here. Often they run sales on a particular brand that is up to 70% off MSRP. This Christin Michaels Carrie Double Breasted Jacket in Ivory says that you are a power player. The design of this jacket entails three-quarter sleeves, a vented back and a funnel collar. Elbow gloves, long sleeve top or arm warmers set the stage for success in this ensemble.

Last but not least you set the stage in this Alice + Olivia "Luiza" Leather/Ponte Motorcycle Jacket. It can be found at Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's. Rock on and demand to been seen. No fears and no worries. Shoulder pads and uneven hem will set you apart from all the cookie cutter wanna be's. Only the confident chic will be seen in this. Pair up with some skinnies and stilettos and hit the town. The options are endless to a cropped jacket or coat. Pick yours and be glamorous. XOXOXOX

What Can I Use Vaseline For?

What can we use Vaseline for? Hmmm. This age old fight will never fail about using petroleum jelly and the pros and cons? Our forefathers and parents grew up on this stuff and it never hurt them. My mother used it on me regularly until I was too grown for her to slather me down with it and I must say I have beautiful skin. I myself have used Vaseline for various beauty rituals along the years with positive results. Too many times we want to buy, buy, and buy without looking right at home in our medicine cabinets. I have used Vaseline on my teeth while photo shooting and yes you can do that. It has been done in the industry before. I have used Vaseline on my eyelashes to keep them moisturized. Many people including myself have purchased Talika Lipocils, Sherani Lash Conditioner and countless other lash conditioners. It is especially good for after showering or bathing to apply a good amount to feet and put in socks overnight. You will wake up smooth and heavily moisturized without that greasy feeling. As I was researching on more ways to use Vaseline I ran across a post on http://www.christinaloves.com/. I can't think of another way to say it as well as she does so check her out and get grooving for cheap and look like a million. XOXOXO

All Natural Toothpaste

All natural toothpaste. Sound good? Too hard to make? I stumbled upon a video thread on youtube while looking for another video and I actually like it. Sometimes we spend way too much time on buying products and sometimes we can just use what we have at home. Natural is better by far. I haven't tried this recipe but I do think it works simply because my mom used to tell me to gargle with hydrogen peroxide. It kills the germs in your mouth and actually will give you a whiter smile. If you look at the ingredients in tooth whitening strips and some manufactured toothpastes this already is a main ingredient. The next ingredient is baking soda. We all know the cleaning power of baking soda. Not only will baking soda clean your teeth but it will also whiten your teeth as well also. Baking soda was used as a method of teeth cleaning well before toothpaste was invented. I use baking soda by dipping my toothbrush already with paste on it in the baking soda to coat the toothbrush and then proceed to brushing my teeth. This is actually a video submission to Threadbanger on youtube so check it out and tell me what you think.

Dining Out Healthy

Hey guys! This post isn't breaking down exact calories and listing all the restaurant chains in America either. Today I am writing on something simple but rather important which is eating out. We eat out almost every day and sometimes we don't consider the long term damage it does to our body. Not only does it take away from our natural glow but it also unbalances our digestive system. I have compiled a few simple choices from major fast food chains that more than likely can be found in every area of the world. Now these choices may not fill you up especially if you have a hearty appetite like me but these ideas should sustain you until you get home and fix a nutritious meal or are able to reach a destination that allows you more control of what you eat.
  • McDonalds...here you can order apple dippers, fruit and yogurt parfait, fruit and walnut salad, grilled chicken without the bun, Strawberry-Banana or Wild Berry smoothie, Minute Maid Apple Juice Box, white or chocolate milk, orange juice, or lastly Dasani Water
  • Wendy's....chili with beans for fiber, baked potato(sour cream and chives is best preferred), mandarin oranges, fresh fruit cup with apples, grapes, and pineapples, or an array of new salads. You can also just opt for the side salad. After I include the dressing, croutons, and cheese on the side salad I am full which now that I think about it probably defeats the point.oops!
  • Sonic now has fresh fruit which includes apples and bananas. You can order chocolate milk, water, tea, a grilled chicken wrap or chicken salad.
  • Burger King offers side garden salad, apple juice, milk, apple fries(similar to apple dippers), or a veggie burger. Yes they still make them!
  • Taco Bell offers fresco tacos and burritos which are topped off with their signature fiesta salsa. I posted the ingredients to Taco Bell's Fiesta Salsa because it actually is all natural aside from  a few preservatives to keep it fresh.

  • Fiesta Salsa

Tomatoes, White Or Yellow Onions, Cilantro. Fiesta Salsa Dressing: Diced Green Chili (Green Chilies, Citric Acid), Vinegar, Water, Diced Jalapeño Chili, Partially Hydrogenated Corn Oil, Salt, Garlic Powder, Xanthan Gum, and Less Than 0.1% Sodium Benzoate Added As A Preservative.

My Snoring Solution Jaw Supporter

Ok... For all you folks out there that snore please tell me it isn't so. I don't snore which I after writing this post I am so glad. I have been hearing a lot of buzz out there regarding a particular product that promises to help snorers in their tracks. Are you tired of snoring? My Snoring Solution Jaw Supporter looks like a contraption that you would see a geek wearing. I have read a few surprising reviews though on this item and they have fared this product well with reviews. This product has been on the market for about 5 years created by Steven Matthews and has been seen on TV infomericals gaining success. This item promises to leave you well rested the next day after sleeping and to discontinue any snoring you may suffer. This item seems a little over the top but has a 90 day money back guarantee so looks like you win either way. Until researching for this post I never knew that there were negative health issues associated with snoring. Currently there is a BOGO on all orders. Don't know what to do with your extra Jaw Supporter? You can keep it for travel or give it to a loved one. The possibilities are endless. Click here to view the site or to order and best of luck.

The Secret to True Beauty

Hello everyone! I read beauty and fashion blogs, read magazines and shop quite often and in all of this there is one area of beauty I have noticed that remains the underdog, which is inner beauty. We can shop til we drop giving away all of our money on beauty products and we can have all the latest fashions but sometimes we have to stop and take a look in the mirror. Inner beauty is not talked about enough which brings us to today's topic which is confidence. Have you ever noticed that certain girl that you would not even dare consider her to be attractive but somehow the men swoon over her? That's called confidence. Confidence in not having to worry about if a guy thinks you're cute or if your outfit is the best. Confident in just being you and accepting who you are. Confident in believing and knowing you are beautiful just the way you are. Check out the Bruno Mars song titled "Just the Way You Are" and you'll see what I mean. Are you that girl with a gap? Love it. That girl with the cowlick that won't behave? Enhance it. That girl with the dimples? Smile more. Confidence is being secure with yourself and being comfortable in your own skin no pun intended(okay, just a little pun intended). Don't confuse this with arrogance because there is a difference. Try for one day not worrying about your cosmetic and so called superficial imperfections because no two people are alike, even twins. Supermodels aren't even perfect. Don't forget there was something different about them that allowed them to get the job. Lauren Hutton modeled and became famous with a gap in her teeth. Cindy Crawford got denied several times in the modeling industry due to her mole which is now by the way is called a beauty mark(go figure). Tyra Banks gets criticized over her forehead which some consider to be large but that didn't stop her from becoming a supermodel. The next time you are out walk with your head up and embrace your self. Love the skin you are in and smile, smile, smile.

I suggest reading a poem called "Phenomenal Woman" by Maya Angelou. It is a beautiful poem about a woman who has what others would call no physical beauty but because she embraces her own natural beauty she lets her light shine and her "hidden beauty" becomes visible to others.

Hempz Treats Lotion

Ahhh where should I start? Hempz Treats Lotion for the body are just tantalizing! The scents are so delicious that you will forget that lotion is not edible. Strawberry Cheesecake is now made for the body! As I strolled into the local Beauty Brands I checked out a product that has been out for some time but with all the products out there who has time to try them all? Hempz Treats Lotion can be found at Amazon,  Beauty Brands, other online retailers and in store at other beauty retailers. I like this lotion because first the scent is reminscent of their actual dessert counterparts. Strawberry Cheesecake actually smells the real thing. Secondly because of all the wonderful skin moisturizing ingredients such as pure orgaanic hemp seed oil and natural honey and vanilla extracts which have wonderful skin conditioning properties and contain antioxidants. These help skin stay silky and moisturized for hours. Included scents in this line range from Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Orange Dream Cupcake, Vanilla Creme Brulee', and Cranberry Vanilla Cake among other scents. Also available is Hempz Treats Lip Shine in your favorite scent as well. XOXOXOXO

Junkprints

Owner/Desinger Chanel Kennebrew
JunkPrints Trackjacket
Ahhh Junkprints. Where shall we start? Junkprints is the newest, hippest line company creeping up the charts. It's a company because not only can you get clothing but you can also get art and probably anything else this little lady can design. The creator and mastermind behind Junkprints is Chanel Kennebrew. She has been seen on Etsy, featured in Honey Magazine, People Stylewatch Magazine, and most recently among others The Infamous New York Times. Not only is Chanel talented, extremely creative but also a very bright intellectual. Some would consider beauty, brains and creativity cannot exist in one person. WRONG. We found it in Kennebrew. We hope you enjoy Junkprints as much as we do! It's more than clothing, it's more than wallets, and illustrations. It's funky and flly. If you find you love Matilda and can't get enough of her, you can send her to friends, family and loved ones. Literally. You can get Matilda postage stamps from Zazzle. Enjoy :b

FG. Who is Matilda and where did she come from?

JP.  Matilda was a narcissistic creation or me. I think that we are all narcissistic. We could have never agreed to terms of normality without some narcissism. Narcissism is what we use to gauge our aesthetics, social groups, and general behavior. It’s the reason why folks of color are constantly feel like they are under represented/ mis-represented in the media. Folks want something/one to identify with, not tokenism or sidekicks. Things are changing and that’s good, and I'm not one to sit and complain about feeling excluded. So I went on a mission to introduce a varied perspective on beauty, cuteness and valued aesthetics and Matilda was hatched. She’s prob not gonna save the world or patch up the economy but she’s cute, smart, silly, is made in my own image, and I relate to her. Hope you do too.

FG. What do you hope to accomplish with Junkprints?

Matilda April Showers Handbag
JP.  I want to encourage folks to empathize with each other as if it's the normal behavior, ask questions and gently reshape the world they live in. That's what I'm trying to do and hope to inspire others to so the same.

FG. How would you describe the fashion of your line?

JP. It's smarter than fashion, less pretentious than art, looser than design and good for the soul. Junkprints started out as one gals surface exploration of race and gender in the media. Junkprints is a response to mainstream media's exclusion and skewed representation of the rest of the American people. Junkprints was created as a lifestyle choice put into place to attempt to balance out the playing field.

Matilda

FG. How was Junkprints born and what was the concept of creating the line.

JP.  Junkprints as a company is actually 8 years old but before the clothing line launched in 2007, Junkprints' primary focus was photography and graphic design. I've found that the clothing aspect has allowed me to communicate directly with the audience and essentially bring the art to the people. The clothing line kinda
started as an accident. Just for fun, I started making myself clothing so that I could wear things I like and believe in. I love men's clothing, it's so practical and usually the messaging isn't making a fool out of the person wearing it. Unlike women's clothing that usually has too few pockets, isn't quite warm or comfortable, and has dumb graphics such as 'sexy.' I wanted to make stuff that I want to wear and absorb. I believe in art for the people and removing the elitism attached to the commercial art world. The majority of the people are not in galleries so that’s not where my art should be. The clothing line was an ideal medium for creating art that the day to day person can absorb.

FG. Where does your inspiration come from to create and design such creative pieces?

JP.  I'm first content inspired and then medium driven, meaning the story or topic comes first and the the execution. I'm inspired by the past and the present. I'm a savager and duplicator who is super fascinated
with propaganda and how we as people relate to our social environments. The thin division lines between social separation are what push me to cover the topics I address in my work.

Love her even more? Live in the NY area? Gotta get your hands on some Junkprints?

Garnier Blow Dry Perfector

Garnier has a new system that promises to keep your hair sleek and smooth for up to 7 washes. No frizzes. Yea!  Blow Dry Perfector comes with two steps to keep the process simple. The first step is the Smooth-it-serum. You comb this product into hair after you shampoo and towel dry. Leave in for 20 minutes......while the product is sitting it is actually working to smooth and tame your hair. The second step is the Perfect-It Cream. This cream contains natural rice oil to seal in moisture and to resist frizz. This product CAN NOT be used on relaxed or damaged hair by chemical processing, but is suitable for color treated hair. In this product you can also find Cysteine which is a protein building block found naturally in hair to loosen the bonds that keep hair frizzy and untameable. This product won't break the bank starting at 9.99 online at Ulta . Visit Garnier's site for a $2 off coupon. Now you can try it and buy it for under $10.00. Another budget saver tip! Don't be stingy and share this tip with your friends. They will thank you for it :b

Back to Business

Crazy Louis! Aviator
Hey guys thanks for still supporting me and bearing with me during my technical troubles. Internet was down and therefore I couldn't blog. I missed you guys too! Today is a quickie and more of a style alert. First up I have found the most amazing sunglasses. They are from Girlprops and are called Crazy Louis! Aviator Shield Sunglasses. Louis Vuitton gone crazy! Lol. These are a little different but can easily be styled to wear more than on a special occasion or going out. I would definitely pair these with khakis or any color denim. A solid color top would be more suitable than a print unless you think you can pull it off. I would go with a white or cream tee and denim jeans and I would be superflly! They come in a variety of colors so take your pick.
Iron Fist Twinkle Toes
My item pick is from Iron Fist. They have a pretty rad line of shoes. This feature style can be found at Hot Topic or Torrid. These platform pumps come in a red, fuchsia and turquoise striped sequin design. You will definitely stand out, but that's a good thing right? You could pair this with black jeans(any style) and a white top with a coordinating color of jacket if necessary. A high waisted skirt or your LBD (little black dress) would look great with these pumps. These shoes have a lot of color so I would recommend letting their beauty stand out and opting for solid colors with this one.

L'Oreal Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara

Naked lashes
Lashes with primer
Hey ladies I just did a review of L'Oreal Double Extend. This product has been on the market for a while and is highly overlooked. I use it everyday and have not heard that much of a buzz about it so I decided to do a review and let you all know about it and for you to see for yourself. For all of you that have not tried this product yet it is a must! Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara has two steps.

Lashes with complete system
*The first step contains pro-keratin complex that fortifies lashes, maximizes their appearance and serves as a lash builder for longer, fuller lashes.
*The second step is the topcoat. This coat lengthens lashes again and provides the color of your choicein mascara.

This product is also recommended for use with L'Oreal Double Extend Lash Boosting Serum.

YSL Age Expert Yeux

Age Expert Yeux is an anti ageing, anti-puffiness and anti-dark circle cream for eyes from the well known designer brand Yves Saint Laurent. I have actually tried this product and I like it. My eyes appear more youthful than before and smoother. More radiant and restored. When I get my rest I look amazing. I do still have bags under my eyes from staying up late night writing for my dear readers but overall I do like this product. It also contains a very wonderful ingredient. Age Expert contains the Ganoderic Fraction (an alternative to DHEA) - an exclusive active ingredient, capable of reactivating the vital functions of the epidermis. You can purchase this online at fine department stores such as Barney's. At some sites they are sold out so you may have to search a little. I bought the last one online at retailer who is now sold out as well. Works great though.

I've Got The Magic

Adidas y-3 Torsion Heel

"I've got the magic in me, Every time I touch that track it turns into gold." Oh course you know these are lyrics from B.O.B's new track "Magic" with Rivers Cuomo on hook. It also has been featured as background music to the new Adidas MEGA Diner commercial featuring Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. B.O.B is the latest spokesperson for Adidas and I would say it is working. I took a look at the new Adidas Line and it is pretty impressive especially the ones from their Y-3 line designed by Tokyo designer Yohji Yamamoto. The Y-3 design is cutting edge and fresh and new as you can see by the Torsion Heel and Cushioned Wedge pictured. The commercial is dead on target with the served up fresh concept from their MEGA Diner ad with Mr. Simmons. The styles that I have seen from Adidas including their sweet footwear from the Honey Line are flly! Visit Adidas, Zappos, Foot Locker or other retailers that carry Adidas Brand Footwear. If you haven't seen the commercial yet or are just dying to see it again you can click here. My favorite track for this week is of course "Magic" by B.O.B. It's fast paced, energetic and eclectic in its sound. Plus I really do think Bobby sounds a lot like Andre 3000 from OutKast in his rhymes.

M*A*C Studio Tech

MAC Studio Tech

Today's post is a reader's favorite. Fan favorite from Keyonia W. is MAC's Studio Tech. For all of you makeup fans out there I'm sure you are no stranger to MAC's Studio Tech line. Our reader loves it because of the great coverage it gives her skin and the rich color and tone she gets from it. Although not recommended Keyonia says that even when she goes to bed with her makeup on she can wake up in the morning and  her makeup will still look fresh and evenly distributed on her face. Way to go MAC! Studio Tech goes on creamy and not cakey. Stefaney at MAC recommends using a brush to evenly distribute the product for a flawless look. Using your fingers or a sponge will not only help you to run out of the tech faster but also does not give the same professional look. Based on reviews I would not suggest using this product alone without a base such as a primer or a concealer. Studio Tech is lightweight and not thick which helps when wearing makeup all day. I also tried this product out and typically when wearing makeup my face would itch and be very uncomfortable. I wore this product all day with no problems.I received full coverage with no itching or needing to reapply. Just when wearing this I would recommend washing your face, using and toner and moisturizer because you will need all these steps to completely remove all traces of the makeup. All in all I give Studio Tech a 9 out of 10 only because there was no perfect shade for my skin. I had to go slightly lighter or slightly darker. The difference was not major but I did not like the fact that my face was a different shade than my neck :(

Healthy Tips for Beautiful Living

Okay. So they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty also is in your hands. To eat right and live right. We all have heard of doing these things but sometimes we forget. You can't always look good on the outside to cover up what's on the inside.
  1. Wash your face day and night. In the evening to wash away all the filth and grime of the day. The phone you had next to your skin as well as the pollution in the air all affect your skin. Washing in the morning removes the dirt and grime and grease from your pillow. If allowed to stay on your skin breakouts and dull skin would occur.
  2. Drink plenty of water. Your body is majority water and when you sweat it evaporates. When you use the restroom it leaves. So make sure you replenish your fluids. Water, Milk, and All Natural Juices are good fluid sources but water is best. Water also helps to flush out your system to get rid of toxins living in your system. Don't like the taste of water? Too bland? Try a lemon wedge or cumber slice. Not only will it change the taste of your water but also it will give you the added benefits of the two.
  3. Brushing your teeth. Brush in the morning and at night. So many times we know to do it but put it off til its too late. Brushing helps to remove plague and other grimy creatures from your teeth and breath. Bad breath is not attractive because you forgot to brush and floss.
  4. Are you stressed? Too much to do and not enough time to do it? Bad break up? Stress can cause unwanted illnesses and sometimes even gray hairs before they are due. Taking a daily supplement of Holy Basil, B-Vitamins or Ashwagandha will help you to deal with the situations in your life better.
  5. Too many times we eat take out or don't eat the right things and this is expressed through our skin. No time? When eating out get as many vegetables on your order as possible. Pack an apple, orange, plum or other fruit that travels well for a quick snack and pick me up. These items are better for you than chips or candy. And your body will thank you for it!
  6. Multi-vitamins are our friend. Daily we do not get the correct amount of vitamins and minerals from our food and this is reproduced through our skin and actions. Lack of energy and dull skin are examples of not getting the right amount of nutrition.
  7. ZZZZZZZZZZ. Also known as beauty sleep. It was named this for a reason. Yes you do need the right amount of sleep. Preferably eight hours. While you are sleeping your body is rejuvenating itself from the stress it has been exposed to. Ever see someone with not enough sleep? Bags under their eyes? Dull skin? Tired looking? After a while this takes a negative toll on your body if this trend is repeated frequently. You can start to look beyond your age, your skin will not be as clear and your body will not operate correctly.
  8. Get moving. No time for the gym? Wake up 10 minutes early and do light stretching, walking in place, lunges, push ups, jumping jacks, etc. Park the car a few spots farther than usual to add extra steps. Housework constitutes as exercise if done continually. Studies show you need at least 30 minutes per day of exercise. I applied this method and have dropped a few sizes myself.

Tickle Me Jeffrey

Giggle Tick
Summer is winding down and although out on the market for quite sometime, I still find myself admiring the coveted Jeffrey Campbell Giggle Tick. I am loving this sandal/wedge/boot. It is bold and eye stopping in its design. They are currently out of my budget but will definitely be on my wish list if still around when I get the cash. Love em' but not sure what to wear with em'? Mix and match your style to get the perfect fit. A graphic tee and shorts would look killer or switch it up with a skirt. The possibilities are endless. This current style can be found at Karmaloop for a cool $200. All of JC shoes are innovative and cutting edge. Jeffrey Campbell has been around for ten years and looks as if he is here to stay. Starting a shoe company in your garage has its payoff. Sort of similar to selling tapes out the truck of your car, or books, or shoes(in my case). Cop you a pair before they're gone.

On the Prowl

Can a leopard change its spots? I don't think so but you can definitely get some of your own. Today's DIY is a manicure tutorial on how to get leopard spot nails to be fierce in the jungle. You will need the following list of items to perform this wild style of nail design...... yellow or similar color nail polish, black nail polish, clear top coat nail polish, nail file, clippers, and cuticle cream/oil if on hand.
  • Start by removing any existing nail polish with nail polish remover.
  • Trim nails and file to desired look. This includes short, long, round, oval, squared, etc.
  • Wash hands and push cuticles back in the process, trim if necessary.
  • Paint two coats of yellow nail polish on nails.
  • Dab in various places on nail bed black polish to desired look.
  • Finish with a clear top coat to seal your new look.

The Long and Short of It

Fashion Designer Kesh
Kelis
Model/Singer Cassie

Long locks on one side and shaved hair on the other. This is a trend that has slowing been creeping up through the mainstream and doesn't look like its stopping. Alice Dellal has been credited with appearing on the scene catwalk style and it has tumbled all across Hollywood. Kelis, Toni Braxton, LaLa Vasquez and singing sensation Rhianna have been seen sporting this daring do. Most notably with model/singer Cassie and new to the scene Willow Smith, daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. This look can take the blah out of the average ordinary hairstyle. Heads will definitely turn if you rocked this style. Is it for you or is to over the top? I would definitely go with this style if I made about 100 times what I make now. Money somehow seems to change things......on another note check out Drake's song "Fancy." I'm kind of feeling it. It's kinda corny but sort of catchy. A little fllygirl groove to get you bumping for the week knowing you looking good and ain't do it for nobody but you. Loving it!

Smashbox O-GLOSS INTUITIVE LIP GLOSS

Smashbox O-Gloss at Sephora
Yesterday I was out and about in my local plaza area and decided to stop into Beauty Brands. I tried out the Smashbox O-Gloss intuitive lip gloss. I tried it on me and my two precious girls. It gave my youngest a glossy peach color and  my oldest a coral colored gloss. It turned my lips into a fuchsia color. The product comes out clear and transparent but when applied to lips turns them into your own shade of pink depending on your body's chemistry.  This product also includes ginkgo biloba and pomegranate seed antioxidants. I noticed last night that from the time I put it on about six in the evening until this morning I did not have to apply any more to my lips. I ate dinner and drank a glass of milk(It does a body good). On a scale of 1 to 5 I give this product a 5 even though I did not get the color I desired it did a pretty good job of keeping my lips healty and moisturized. This product retails for $22 and you can buy it online at Sephora. Keep tuning in for more glamour styles and budget tips.

Lets Sparkle and Shine

Today we will be talking about glitter. Glitter has been around for quite some time but is highly overlooked. If you can pull it off you can be quit the trend setter without looking like you just came off the Vegas show strip. First you want to start off with cosmetic grade glitter. This is the kind of loose glitter you can find at Sally's Beauty or Walgreens in the beauty and makeup section. After you find the right color next choose how you will use your glitter. You can put your desired amount of glitter in your lotion. Shake and apply. This is also an inexpensive option to buying costly store bought brands. This can also work well for body oil. Just make sure to shake(with the top on of course) before applying. Next you can place glitter in an inexpensive clear coat nail polish and apply to nails. Voila! Instant readiness for a day of shopping or a picnic with that special someone. Last but not least you can actually use your cosmetic grade glitter for cosmetics. This can easily be applied to your eyelashes with mascara or lightly on eyelids. You will need something applied to your lids to make glitter stick such as an eyeshadow primer. Hopes this helps and remember these are only suggestions. If you have any suggestions for beauty ideas please let me know!

Very Influential

It’s Tuesday and I am feeling a lot better and in the swing of things. I spoke with a dear friend yesterday and I am very proud of his success. A lot of our youth spend time doing absolutely nothing or spend a lot of time doing absolutely foolish and destructive things. He is now producing songs for major recording stars and doing his dream, something a lot of us think about or never accomplish. Even going as far as employing some of his family members. That in itself made me feel a lot better. I get excited and gushing on the inside when people do positive things. Another person I know through affiliation is the face behind Black Media Productions. Fredrickus Williford, a guy for as long as I can remember has been very creative on his entrepreneurship and building blocks to his future. Today’s blog is a lot different today but the inspiration drove me to it. Two young fresh faces on the scene working constantly at their goals. This inspires myself to strive harder at my own business ventures and a positive look on life. If they can do it I know I can. What will be the deciding factor in your life that sets you apart from the rest? Today is a day to reflect on yourself , your dreams, aspirations, and goals in life. As the days get shorter and time slips away from you don’t let another day go by that you don’t act on your dream. Acting, singing, coaching, or owning your very own store. Do it today because tomorrow is not promised.

Monday Rut

Have you ever had one of those days where even though you were at work, you didn't want to be. One of those days where no matter what you were doing you didn't want to do it? You oversleep past the alarm clock. The children's hair isn't quite combed and your daycare provider looks as if you are an unfit parent. You can't quite seem to pick out a suitable outfit for work. You stroll into your place of employment with stripes and plaids instead of a smooth flowing outifit. Please let me know I am not the only one! I am having one of "those" moments where no matter what I can't seem to do it. Work well, type well. Even think well. I guess maybe I am still stuck in this weekend and not wanting to flow into Monday. Let's hope that come Tuesday I can be there too. Time to get rid of "weekend hangover."
